A bit of a lyric writing exercise in taking the young person’s point of view
for a then thirty-something who was feeling like they were for the first time
losing touch with the younger generation. Railing at the contradictions of
the older generations (i.e. me), I was going for a Bossanova-era Pixies feel for the riff, slow, deliberate and dominating. For the comparatively puny solo, I read somewhere that Graham Coxon hated Country House so much that he recorded a deliberately sappy guitar on it as sabotage - but apparently it ended up sounding so right they used it.
